Herpesinfektion

Herpes labialis (lip herpes)

A kiss,a sneeze, a short contact—a single thoughtless moment is enough to contract the so called herpes simplex virus 1 (herpes labialis or lip herpes) from a herpes sufferer.

Once the herpes virus has reached the nerve roots near the temple via the upper skin cells, it will remain dormant there for a lifetime. The repeated outbreak of lip herpes can occur, whenever the immune system is weakened or stress-related triggers are present.

Aching and weeping herpes blisters in the mouth region are external signs of lip herpes. An itching and tense sensation heralds the coming formation of blisters on the lips. The treatment should start at this time already, in order to alleviate the lip herpes outbreak. The electronic medical device HERPOTHERM® has been proven to prevent the formation of blisters and the sore sensation on the lips by the external application of heat.
